  37. We're all very happy for you...why should PC users be shut out.  Still, 
  38. many of us DO continue to need Amiga.

  40. Without a doubt, the number of new Lightwave users from other platforms 
  41. will inundate this mailing list.  This does not mean by any stretch of 
  42. the imagination that the Amiga users are ALL switching.  Many cannot, and 
  43. some PREFER not to do so.

  45. Whether or not the future of the Amiga is sealed as it now stands, it 
  46. will continue to provide production/income/pleasure to thousands of us.  
  47. The NewTek "REVOLUTION" was in part succesful because of the 
  48. affordability of the complete package, including the Amiga and what was 
  49. certainly underpriced software.  Many of those now in a position to make 
  50. a quantum leap to very expensive platforms would quite possibly still be 
  51. selling used cars were it not for these factors (no criticism of artistic 
  52. ability implied - it's just that NewTek and the Amiga opened a window low 
  53. enough to allow the masses to challenge the networks, and many availed 
  54. themselves of it with great aplomb).

  56. This has not really changed all that much...have those who encouraged us 
  57. to "storm the Bastille" now become the "aristocracy", so that only those 
  58. with pockets deep enough to buy Alphas can continue to have access to 
  59. quality software and hardware?  Is the Revolution truly over?? Or will 
  60. the torch pass to other hands?  I'd prefer to think that NewTek has 
  61. enough appreciation of the situation to continue to provide support to 
  62. it's users new and old, until the NUMBERS dictate that dropping Amiga 
  63. support is BOTH honorable and fiscally sound.

  66. I guess what I'm trying to say here is, even if C= is truly defunct 
  67. forever (not necessarily a bad thing, nor the end of the Amiga), let us 
  68. not celebrate it's demise, nor bury it while there are still amazing 
  69. signs of vitality ...witness Photogenics, Impact, VLab Motion, 
  70. Broadcaster 32, AND LW4.0!!  And let NewTek PLEASE not abandon the 
  71. the thousands of loyal Amiga users who have helped boost them to their 
  72. current succeses..at least not yet :-)
